A huge Lion's Roar to all who participated with the annual BBQ. An unusual year with the rain, and a great showing from the community. Special thanks to Lion John Schiede for organizing the event along with Lion John Schimmelmann, and to all the club members, their families, and volunteers who helped make this BBQ a very smooth event. Lions Jack, Norm and Ken were with us in spirit this year, and their individual ticket sales were picked up and boosted by some of our newest members. Congrats to Lions Lowell and Coyne and Dixon for exceptional ticket sales.

Lions of Michigan State Convention: Will be held at Old Mission Point on Mackinac Island, May 21 and 22, 2010. More information is due out this month.
 
 Opening Eyes: It’s registration time again for volunteers to help with vision screenings of Special Olympic team members. The screening days are during the Special Olympic games on CMU campus on June 3rd, 4th and 5th. You can sign up for all the days or just one half day. For some of these athletes this is the only eye exam they ever get. It is a great time and a rewarding experience. See Lions Bill Sowle or Julia Holmes for registration forms.

.71st Charter Night is June 14th. Members and guests are invited to celebrate the creation of our Mt. Pleasant Lions club and the installation of officers. Sign up sheets will be at all our next meetings. The cost is $25 per Lion member couple and 55 for non-member couple. If you are unable to sign up at a regular meeting, contact Lions Julia Holmes or Larry Leemaster
